On the warmest April day in nearly 70 years, Bedford and Ouse Valley District Scouts celebrated St George’s Day on Sunday 22nd April 2018. The event started with all the Network, Explorers, Scouts, Cubs and Beavers renewing their promise before parading along The Embankment with the salute being taken by the Mayor of Bedford, Dave Hodgson.
After the parade all the young people participated in an afternoon of activities within their dedicated fun zones. The Beavers enjoyed mini archery, circus skills, inflatable hoopla and a bouncy castle before playing parachute games. The Cubs raced down the Helter-Skelter slide, played human table football and many other games. The Explorers and Scouts went boating on the river, tried the laser shoot, skirt football and had a go at many challenging games.
Well over 1,000 young uniformed members had a fun day. A great advert for Bedford and Ouse Valley District and Scouting as a whole so thank you all for supporting this great showcase.
